Dans les années 1970, le féminisme se fait entendre partout dans le monde. La ville de Leuven en Belgique a également pris le train en marche. Le documentaire de Rita van Gool et Iwona Pom met en lumière les femmes fortes de Louvain, témoignages des pionnières de la première heure, mais aussi des jeunes féministes qui font entendre leur voix sur leur motivation et l’avenir.

In the 1970s, feminism was going on around the world. The city of Leuven in Belgium was also a part of this movement. The documentary by Rita van Gool and Iwona Pom highlights the strong women of Leuven, testimonies of the pioneers of the first hour, but also of the young feminists who make their voices heard about their motivation and the future.

In de jaren 70 laat het feminisme wereldwijd van zich horen. Ook de stad Leuven in België springt op de kar. Deze documentaire van Rita van Gool en Iwona Pom brengt een aantal sterke vrouwen uit Leuven voor het voetlicht, pioniersters van het eerste uur maar ook jonge feministen laten hun stem horen over hun motivatie en hun toekomstbeeld.

Rita Van Gool est impliquée dans diverses initiatives féministes, tant au niveau national (festival de Dames Draaien/Elles tournent) que dans sa ville natale de Louvain. Elle a également été professionnellement active en tant que membre du personnel du Conseil des femmes.
Iwona Pom est professeur à l’Université de Varsovie (département de psychologie) et à l’École nationale de cinéma Schiller (postproduction et nouveaux médias).

Rita Van Gool is involved in various feminist initiatives, both at the national level (Dames Draaien/ Elles Tournent Festival) and in her hometown of Leuven. She has also been professionally active as a staff member of the Women’s Council.
Information and audiovisual designer, Iwona Pom is a lecturer at the Warsaw University (Psychology Department) and at The Schiller National Film School (Postproduction & New Media).
