La Protagoniste, de son prénom, nous est présentée dans son milieu naturel : une jungle dépourvue bien souvent, hélas, de densité. Mais aujourd’hui, ça suffit ! Être la mère, la secrétaire, l’amante, la nounou, le biberon, le bout de gras du personnage masculin principal ne suffisent plus à notre chère Protagoniste. Mise sur « mute » après avoir écoulé le temps de parole alloués aux personnages féminins* d’un film, elle se sauve avec sa pote Voix Off pour un nouveau périple. Le tout avec humour.

The Protagonist, going by her first name, is presented to us in her natural environment: a jungle often sadly devoid of density. But today, she’s had enough! Being the mother, the secretary, the lover, the nanny, the sex interest of the main male character is no longer enough for our dear Protagonist. Put on “mute” after having used up the speaking time allotted to the female* characters of a film, she runs away with her buddy Voice Over, starting out on a new journey. All in good fun.

De Protagoniste wordt voorgesteld in haar natuurlijke omgeving : een dichte jungle. Vandaag heeft ze er de buik van vol ! Een moeder zijn, een secretaresse, een minnares, een nanny en het seksspeeltje van het mannelijk hoofdpersonage is niet langer genoeg voor onze Protagoniste. Nadat ze op ‘stil’ gezet werd nadat de spreektijd voor de vrouwelijke karakters in de film opgebruikt was, loopt ze weg met haar buddy Voice Over. Op weg naar een nieuw avontuur. Alles doorspekt met humor.

Réalisatrice, scénariste, activiste, Sarah Carlot vit et travaille à Bruxelles. Après des études de Cinéma à Montpellier et à l’IAD, elle écrit un mémoire en Master Genre sur le Female Gaze questionnant l’esthétique des désirs féminins. Elle est à l’écriture d’un long métrage Promesses d’Exil.

Director, screenwriter, activist, Sarah Carlot lives and works in Brussels. After studying Cinema in Montpellier and at the IAD, she wrote a master’s thesis on Female Gaze, questioning the aesthetics of female desires. She is writing a feature film “Promises d´Exil”.
